Hey Guys,
you know i have always been a big fan of your tunes, "Your Crime" needs to be re-recorded, The live recording just doesn't do this song justice, that's a compliment ..lol
would love to hear it recorded at the studio.
"Poor Thing" has that meaty in your face gonna kick your ass type sound, which I love!!!
Big Props!!!

hey dude! welcome back!
the 2nd track kind of reminds me of STP but on steroids...and your singer doesn't sound like Eddie Vedder. lol i had a listen to the first track, too, but need to check it again..hold on a sec......yeah, the 1st track is very 70's in a certain respect, but has some elements that are more current in your hooks.
you guys should just spend a few hundred buck to get a decent computer and a card that has enough inputs to allow you to mike drums, then go from there. basically, DIY. lol you'll save money in the end and can save your money for sometime when you've got several really good tracks together. just do upscale demos for a while.
anyhow, hope to hear some better recordings some day. they sound like they are pretty tight songs. |

All ya gotta do is let me know........I have made some more contacts here, I just found out that our neighbor is the sound guy for one of the most popular venues here...called "The Magic Bag" everybody plays there even big name acts, also have a good friend who is a good friend of the owners of a few huge bars that are band friendly......let me know, and I can get the ball rolling here, and don't worry about a motel, i got plenty of room and a garage for the equipment if needed, you supply the beer!!..lol
Also, have you thought of contacting a small time studio to see if they can do the recording cheap just to get their name out there???
there is a few that do that here.....for instance 15-25 dollars an hour or 250.00 all day which i think is a damn good price, and they can still achieve a great studio sound. |

Sonically good but i don't know for the record, i got it on bad speakers cause it's night and i only have my screen ones but seems something is blured and lowerered in the mastering ?
Can't listen very well because of this, i can say the music is good however, guitar is on tune with everything
Cymbal sounds harsch on there, i would need my hi fi to say, look like classic rock radio music
Guitar is definitivly doing its job but the record is cutted at end
Like it but this nasty cut and click blasted my brain as i'm tired, but well done, singer has a typical voice that is known standard, but just good,
nothing amazing on this to me but like if said i need my hi fi on to review sound well , cheers |

yeah, that's a really good suggestion, actually. there are quite a few around here that do that as well. that's what we've paid normally for studio time. it actually pisses me off that so many people charge so much for their studio time. a lot of those places are no better and have no more qualified people than the smaller studios. of course there is a conservatory here in KC, so it's just as easy to pay the conservatory $85/hr if you want to know you're getting your money's worth. it's a very, very good studio. the quality of most of our 2005 studio tracks are mediocre because we didn't really have them mastered and the final mix had to be done with some earlier 2-track mixes because the original takes were accidentally erased, but for being demos, i think they sound damn good! anyhow, since a ton of people out there running studios are like a lot of people here at the site (i don't count myself among them, but someone like Smili, maybe) who are/were musicians who wanted to cut out the middle man, but then because of all the equipment and people wanting to use it, they become the middle man. there are people around here charging crazy prices and don't have nearly the dope equipment the conservatory has. AND, most everyone i've met that's into gear and recording is also interested in recording other bands, even if it isn't the kind of music they like. hell, even if you know a guy that has a really, really small setup, but can facilitate recording at least the drums and bass for a rhythm track, it would be a good way to get your stuff out there. it would also be a good learning experience for the band, especially if you end up doing a lot of the hands-on stuff together throughout the production and post-production processes. the difference in quality will not be noticeable to the majority of people, if at all. you might even discover that the people you worked with in the past ripped you off! jk |

You guys sound like you have a lot of promise.
However, the first thing that entered my head when I listened to "Your Crime" was 'Layla - Eric Clapton'. Same chords, and I swear the intro solo melody is very similar to one of the live version solos Clapton's done. Sorry if that bums you out, and it's no reason to change anything at all, it's just my observation.
Apart from that, you guys just need a better quality recording. I know you said to excuse the sound quality, but these recordings don't do the songs justice.
Keep it up though, I think you guys have great musical vision. |
