OK, I might be doing this wrong, but when I click on a play button, I get the usuall Windows box asking if I want to save or open.. Either way, the file is a WMA.. but the file I want is an MP3.. So, the player (wmp or WinAmp) spazzzzzes out all together..
I'm trying to play my own song to see if it works, and I know it's an mp3 (lo-fi and hi-fi)
I know my setup works.. I have an Acidplanet account that opens Winamp with no problems.. Same thing with GarageBand.com..
I like this site, and I'd like to use it.. HELP!! |

OK.. The .wma file is NOT a WMA file...
It's a playlist file with the wrong extension.. it should be something like .pls or .asx or .m3u
The problem still remains.. it won't work |

Tommy,
It's playing fine on my pc???
Currently only .mp3 files are supported. But as I said your song is playing fine.
Can someone else verify as well?
Thanks,

What players are you all using?
I have run into things like this in the past on AcidPlanet, but my setup has been working great for the last few months..
I'll keep trying.. but this is starting to suck |

I'm using windows media player... I just got home and have a newer version here, and it works too.
Sorry your having problems. Have you tried clearing your cache? Sometimes this fixes these random odd bugs.

All,
I downloaded and installed both dBpowerAMP and MediaMonkey players (a couple of the most popular players from download.com) over the past few days and was unable to stream audio to either one. I uninstalled both and can still stream fine to Windows Media player (had version 9, but now have version 10) .
I like the MediaMonkey player pretty well and reinstalled it without associating files with it, so I still have Windows Media player assoicated with the files for hotlinks. It would be interesting to see if folks having problems are using different players.

I've never had a problem streaming stuff in iTunes. if you're having problems with other players, I highly recommend it. |

Huh.. I just upgraded my WinXP to Service Pack 2, and that's when everything went wrong.. I tried playing my AcidPlanet songs, and they errored out as well.. SO.. I downloaded the latest update to Windows Media Player 10, and things are running well again
A few folks told me I might have troubles after doing the SP2 download.. I guess they were right
Thanks for all the help !! Now I'm gonna go check some tunes |

I'm glad you got it worked out, and thankx for letting us know where it came from!!!! There will probably be a lot of folks downloading SP2, since MS is pushing it like mad!!!!
Great to have you at the unsigned band web!!!!!!

Service Pack 2 crashed my PC. Wouldn't boot at all. Had to go into recovery and uninstall. I'm going to give Microsoft another 6mo to sort out the problems. There's alot of bad stories about SP2 upgrades in the newgroups. |

I installed SP2 3 weeks ago and it kept on messing up loads of things (e g pop-up windows couldn't be stretched, files wouldn't open properly), so I uninstalled it and everything works ok now. 3 weeks later and I've just found 350MB of installation files on my second HD. The culprit? SP2! |
