pretty dark track. the effects you have on the vocals are too wet and the hiss is really out front. if i were listening with headphones i think it would be painful due to it's dominance in the mix. it also makes the mix sound muddy. i think there's quite a bit of potential here, but the vocals need to be brought in or something. i think i know what sound you're shooting for. played a bit quiet, it works ok but at a normal it doesn't
good luck! |

hiss might be the wrong word, but it's basically the reverb effect, or rather how wet that effect is, as well as any other effects you're using on the vocals. some of the others will probably be able to articulate it better. |

Whoa....dude it sounds very Manson/NIN........I like it!!!!......but there is something in the mix.....ok, got it.....sorry im writing as I listen, if you could warm up the vocal track a little...may be too much treble....good voice though....like the effect on the vocal.....the track sounds pretty good other than that......I liked the ending also......
Overall---awesome song!!
Needs more guitar!!!!!...lol |

since you mentioned you didn't use many effects on the latest track you uploaded, i was wondering if the vox could be sorted out by just messing with the EQ on your Alesis. i used to have the MultiMix12 FireWire, and remember the 2-band EQ on the mixer to be pretty good, and pretty touchy, so i can see how it would be difficult to get the balance. i think reducing the treble would take care of that very brittle vocal cloud that is looming. it's almost like the brittle echo of like a plate reverb. anyhow, i think the mix of the vocals is what is pretty much holding this track back. it's a great idea, but it just might take you several mind-numbing hours to find that perfect balance. |
