pretty creepy track, man! lol i like what you've done with the vocal track. it really adds to the whole creepy feel and fits well with the text. great idea!
during your verses, the vocals seems to be a little too out front and dominate everything else. that might be what you were after, though. i didn't have a chance to have a listen through cans, but am predicting that you might need to back down some of the higher freqs. i liked the mix on this track a lot better than the other i had a listen to, though. it's a lot more balanced and the separation of sounds is a lot better.
i can't put my finger on it, and will need to have another listen when i have a few moments, but there was something at the beginning, right as the bass intro starts to move into the main body of the song, where it sounds like there is either a left over bit of hissing or something. almost sounds like when you hit a stomp box and you're just a fraction of a second off, so the effect goes longer than it's supposed to. as i said, can't quite figure it out. i'll have a closer listen and see if i can make sense of my own thoughts. nice work! |

I agree with Gorgatron,
plus, the guitar needs to be a little more up front and not so compressed and distorted,
just my opinion though, i like the other things going on in the track,
mmmm, would you be interested in maybe putting together a backing track and let me have some fun with the guitar work??
just a thought.....
Have a good one!! |

Very creepy!!!! I'll be honest, i was waiting for it to break loose! i'm not crazy about all the pitch shifters used.... i think it would sound better if you actually sang it, and played it in 5ths and 7ths.... but that's me...
I think the hiss that the others are refering to is the shifter.....not sure but it sounded like the choppiness and hiss from it...
I got bored...it's just missing the boom! ya know????!!!!????

Casssy.
Thanks for the comment.
Gorg & Gunner.
The hissing is the flanger on my Zoom 505. Yeah, I know. As soon as I can afford something better........ You're both right about the mix and I will make the corrections you have suggested. Gunner, I will send you something to play with soon.
gl!
No pitch shifter used. I can sing badly in three octaves. That's the problem really, my voice is weak and feeble so I have to use gimics and effects. |

Hey geezer, the track has a real spooky quality about it, but when I listened to it, "metal" didn't really go through my head. I did like it though. I think that if you want a more metal feel, I would agree with gorgatron and gunner, that the guitar needs to be beefed up with some more heavy hitting sounds. I enjoyed your work though. Keep it up. |

Good point, well made. I keep trying for metal and ending up with prog rock. Must be my age. |

No problem at all, my friend. It's my pleasure. There is no such thing as age. Keep it rockin'. |
