I have four songs on the countrycharts # 1,2,and 3 and 17. I would like some musicians to tell me if they belong in the country gene. I also have a song #1 on the country-pop charts, I think taht is more of a blues song. Can anyone give me some feedback on that? Thanks Miguel |

you just have to give a link because of your member name in the forum is different than artist name and even as a mod i can't know who you are |

listening the song above (country pop) one.
nice sing that have a blues feeling (soft one), bit dreamy
the first minute guitar sound to dry and notes are too short time to me.
there is mellow in your song...
horn volume seems to be mixed too high sometimes.
my idea is your accents are too strong if we consider a standard mastering record.
Feeled bit of positiv emotion in here...
cheers |

not so sure to be honest, but your music genre taste should consist of techno/pop cuz it's the best and most unique sound out there. take for instance the band Scientific Lifestyle. SO good. check them out you'll see exactly what i mean... |

i think singer/songwriter would fit just fine, actually. that's basically how i see it (hear it lol). you incorporate several styles, but it's mainly you and your guitar. the track i have one at the moment has some sax in it. not sure if i have quite heard the 'country' influence in the two tracks i've listened to, and both were labeled 'country' or 'country pop.' the reason i say singer/songwriter is that even though you sound nothing like him, the blend of styles reminds me a bit of something like Elvis Costello would do. the song 'Empty Nest' reminds me a bit of the 'Built to Spill' song 'Twin Falls.'
when i think of 'country pop' i think of modern Nashville country, like the stuff you hear on new country radio. and it's definitely not Alt. Country or Americana. so yeah, i think singer/songwriter would be a good category for the two tracks i listened to, which are the first to on your profile. they sound really good, too. best of luck to you! |
