We all have them, singersongwriters we believe to be musical geniuses but nobody's ever heard of them! Mine is Gemma Hayes, she's supported Counting Crows, Athlete and Snow Patrol but no one knows her and she's amazing! Who's yours?

yeah, that's a good one. mine isn't singer/songwriter either, nor is it acoustic. but i'd say the swedish post-rock band The Samuel Jackson 5 would be one where i'm surprised that not more people know about them.

and unsigned act..Savium. they are here on UBW. i listen to them quite regularly.

A little duo called Karmina. They're sisters. One on guitar, one on piano, both sing and harmonize. Beautiful stuff.

I think this guy has one of the best voices I've ever heard. I've seen him live a few times and he was amazing.

BT
John Legend (some people still don't know who he is)
Feist
Elliott Smith
Frou Frou (imogen heap, same thing)
Joshua Radin

John Mayer's last album was surprisingly good. I also second Aimmee Man (Bachelor no.2/Magnolia OST, a lot of overlapping tracks).

I adore "Happy Rhodes". She's a little known but doesn't get nearly the recognition she deserves. 4 octave range and sweetest melodies. What a talent!
