or demo, really. check out 020108 (demo), now available on my UBW profile.

as the title suggests, it's the demo. still need to touch it up here and there and do a final mix. it is in it's final stages, though. i've been working on it forever, and had taken a long break cuz it was doing my head in. Laughing this stuff is all new to me. lol

anyhow, i also need suggestions for the genre, as i'm not sure where it fits. i have it in electronica at the moment, but am not sure if it actually belongs in ambient or even somewheres else.

ok, i'm writing a book here. lol let me know what you think of what i'v got going on here so far. let me know what genre it is. i need your help! lol

hope you enjoy. cheers! Cool

i think its great....lol... left you a comment mate, cant see much that needs touching up there, wonderful tune, dont know how you manage such a range of emotions within one tune without tipping it one way or the other... guess thats why people liken your tunes to film music alot, every few bars theres another scene you can imagine!!! hate to get 80's but what the hell im gonna say it....

AWESOME DUDE!!! Laughing Laughing Laughing

nice timpani/bells , the whistle is a bit too dry , drums could be more phattened, bells leads are very nice, this project is well structured, i would have added strings giving more power to the project, song is very linear and ambient, i definitly believe strings would be a nice addition to this track. Not your best one in my opinion, i have a small empty feeling when the song end...need work the project is too simple to be a song that i would listen many times.
no need to say you know how to produce but if my criticism is sharp it's because i want you to do better, for you and us...
cheers

Really like it, it's interesting stuff. I think its strengths are that all the various tracks mix together well, it sounds full but not overcrowded, you've got a good blend going on. I'm not a fan of the rattle-sounding beat, but that's just a preference. The only improvements I can think of would be more variation structurally, there are brief moments where everything cuts out and then comes back in again, I just think these pauses could be longer. Bear in mind this isn't a genre I'm overly familiar with, but these are the things that I thought of when I listened to it... Overall impression is good though, well worth the hard work!

thanks for the comments, they are much appreciated. as the title suggests, it's a demo. i've been working on it for quite a while and just wanted to put it up in some form.

i've tried strings with it, and don't like the sound that much. what i've done is taken electric sounds and made them sound organic (bell sound is actually electric piano with lots of subtle tweaking) and taken organic sounds and made them sound synthetic (much of the warbled noise is an acoustic guitar that has been tweaked to sound like a synth).

i feel the drum track is a problem, too. i agree with PPB about the fullness of the drums, an that's one issue i hope to have addressed in the final product. thanks again for the comments, and i'm assuming from PPB's comment that this track belongs in the 'ambient' section.

you've all given me food for thought. Very Happy

Hi!
This is not really my style of music, but i have admit that i like it Smile
Reminds me of the music that was on around the clock in ThePod Hotel in New York when i was there! I can't honestly judge if it's a good or bad tune, but it gets me in a good mode and that is enough for me!

Cheers
