Hi my name is Jason, Director of scarycaravan studios. A new production company based in Nottingham.

scarycaravan studios specialise in; animation, film, graphic design and motion graphics.

We are offering promotional packages for bands or individual artists that want to stand out from the rest.

Our promotional package includes the following:

1. A 5 page website with 12 months hosting.
2. 1 day (6 Hrs) studio hire which includes Green Screen and HD Cameras
3. A HD video shot within our studio
4. 1 Hour Photo Shoot
5. 1000 x A5 Z Cards (Full colour double-sided).
6. DVD containing music video and inlay colour card. (Only 1 Master Produced in price. Duplicates can be quoted for upon request).
7. Video encoded for use on the web (youtube, myspace and facebook).

ALL this for ONLY £860.00

A consultation meeting with the Director prior to the video will be required to go through ideas and to discuss shots. This will be at a cost of £80 and will last for 2 hours.

i only have US prices to compare this to, but it sounds a bit pricey (weak dollar at the moment Laughing

). one thing that i was curious about, however, was whether you also design and maintain the website on behalf of the artist, or do you design a 'back door' like with myspace and suchlike where the artist goes in and sets it up themselves?

since 6 hours is probably not enough time to do a video (cutting, editing, etc. included), how much do you charge for each additional hour of studio time? i know studio time over here can cost anywhere from $100/hr on up. just curious.

Hi,

Thanks for the post.

Firstly yes we DO maintain the artsists website which includes designing it from scratch and organising the hosting.

The 6 hours studio time is not very long - true, but this does not include editing, compositing or rendering. But the Post Production is included in the price. The video is pre-planned at a meeting with the artist so that we have a clear idea what the artist wants and what we can offer. This may include storyboarding.

cool, thanks for following up. combined with the additional info, the package sounds more lucrative for sure. post production can sometimes be as expensive as the production itself.

how much for an original animated video??? about 5-7 mins long???

Hi FaceFitz. Well it all depends on what style of animation it is?

Flash animation (Drawn then scanned in and animated using this program, or actually created completely in this software). Eg. Fosters Home of Imaginary Friends.

3D CGI Model animation. Eg. Monster House, TMNT

Traditional Hand-Drawn animation. Eg. Family Guy, Simpsons

Stop Motion. Eg. Corpse Bride

It all depends on the style of animation. This will reflect with the cost.

i'm a bit on my cloud...i readed fastly but i always thought to have a 1280*1024 24fps 3D virtual animation with a track i yet choosen...
4:00 minutes long
can you make an offer ?
do you have an sample of your selled stuff ?
could you press it into cd rom with a flash with other small features to 500 units and more later if i make this choose ?
just telled you what i'd like to purchase if you don't go on this plan do you know skilled peoples that would sell this service ? thanks
