Hi there, I have made a music/audio search engine. You can find and download any song on web that you need. You can also listen to the songs online using the inbuilt music player..
Check the site here:
http://www.getmytracks.com/
I wish you will be liking it.
And yeah, the songs available through it, willnot be breaking any terms of service..

hi, congrats on your efforts, but this is spam! this belongs on the 'advertisements & off-site promotions' forum. please read forum rules before just posting something where you like. it helps keep the forums organized and keeps advertisements like this in their proper place. when i want to check out advertisements, o go there...when i find them here, it's annoying. thanks. |

there's no way to get every song you want legally! ok, if someone has cataloged every song out there in some country that has no copyright laws of intellectual property laws, okay, i guess it will work. did you go to the site? you don't even know what the hell you're getting most of the time. i couldn't find anything i entered until i started entering names like "britney spears." it's also really dodgey. enter at your own risk!
good work kid! |

Well...
After reading the replies I was a bit dubious, but the first band I searched for was Opeth, and it came up with 9 tracks... impressive.
ok so they might be more well known these days than they were 5 or more years ago.
second try: Butterfly Effect (a good aussie band that as far as I'm aware hasn't made much of a dent overseas yet) - 6 or so matches, but only one was the right band (but my fav song of theirs - Take it away).
so i try a lesser known but awesome local band, Cog, but it comes up with another band of the same name (that I think suck in comparison).
so maybe it's illegal, but it seems to work somewhat.
It's drawing from www.esnips.com i think, which is a personal file sharing site, so maybe it is elsiv's own (probably extensive) mp3 collection.
I'm not going to use it out of principal though.
So nuts to it. |

i tried Aesop Rock (fairly well known, yet underground, hip hop), some very rare songs from african artists (that i wasn't so surprised about), to rococo rot (german band), dirty three (aussies), Mono (jp not uk), and a few other fringe artists. some came up with a few hits, most none.
my point still remains valid regardless...this is in the wrong forum and it's illegal. not that i am against file sharing, but i don't think the 'off-tpoinc discussion' forum is exactly the right place to be pushing your personal illegal download site. that's the point of my initial response and has remain thus throughout. |

Thanks for the criticism everyone. But you should have looked coherently at my post title as well as the purpose of the site. It is a "music search engine" and not a file sharing site at all. Just like yahoo, google work when we type any word in them they give us so many results..its just like that.
You put "illegal downloads" in google and gives you millions of results..so, this doesn't mean, googleais illegal
Again, I repeat, this is a music search engine and not a file sharing site. esnips is the main site (which is 100% legal) from which its extracting tracks right now, because I couldn't find any "legal" sites where such things are allowed..otherwise, if I had put their addresses..you could have found virtually any track you can think of.
I shared here, not for spamming, what I'll be getting in return by the way? I am paying for the site maintainance and all not asking for donations here..Comm'on, you should first try to look positively at things if they are new to your knowledge, rather than blindly criticizing someone who is not spamming here, but sharing her achievement.
@gorgatron:
Buddy, I am not a kid anymore, I am a full grown up girl. And the country to which I belong, is the same country where laws are equally important to follow. I hope you should stop that "country limited" narrow minded approach..its 21st century and its internet, no one is sitting with their "country flags" in their hands. Anonymity is internet users right..but how many sites are there which are allowing anonymous users? You take your example, you being a moderator or whatever, noted my IP and came to know about my country..and now you are openly talking about it. Isn't that illegal?isn't that against "users privacy policies"??
Well, I can go on and on to prove my point, which is 100% valid as I am not supporting any "illegal" thing, again its just a music search engine which relies mainly on esnips, because that site is legal.
Get you basics cleared my friend. You may close the thread now, if you still think the same way..because I have explained everything.
Thanks for the encouragement though!! Its lovely to see that kind of attitude towards new things happening. I have only heard about the beta-phase critics..but now I am interacting with them.. Nice.. |

esnips may be legal, but 99.99% of the mp3s on it are NOT.
Also, whilst what you are doing may technically be legal, so was Napster, and we all remember how that ended.
All I'm going to say is I would tread very carefully if I were you. |

just to sort something out, i never said that you were in another country. my exact words were, "there's no way to get every song you want legally! ok, if someone has cataloged every song out there in some country that has no copyright laws of intellectual property laws, okay, i guess it will work." i didn't say "she" or "they" or anything that inferred you specially, unless you fit the profile of a person in a country that fits the profile that i was describing whilst thinking aloud, bouncing ideas around as to how this is legal or illegal. the same as i did in every other post. so, get your facts straight. there are countries that don't recognize copyright laws. i have no idea where you're from, nor have i ever claimed to know otherwise.
as for your age, big deal. maybe i'm 55, so most of you are kids to me? but most likely i'm not.
before you reprimand me for being narrow minded, be sure to take your advice and not read a bunch of crap into my words. the 'if' (+ modal aux. verb) clause, or in this particular case known as the subjunctive (look it up - if your a speaker of German, it's called Konunktive II), is used for wishes and hypothetical statements. in the example i quoted where i'm assuming you've developed the notion that i'm just some dumb american that has no clue what's really going on in the world, i'm discussing with the other forum member possible scenarios in which a download site might in some way be legal, as we were still going on the assumption that this is an illegal download site. or, even if it's a search engine, it's taking you to a portal where you can download it illegally. obviously one has far fewer repercussions than the other. i also mention in another post that i'm not against illegal downloads, just against promoting it in the forum. and, i'm not a mod.
furthermore, the fact that you just skim my words and then read what you want into them shows much more about your attitude than anything i've written says about me. other than i feel this is not posted in the proper place. this is an advertisement.
people here at this forum are from all over. our listeners (since most of the people active here are also artists who host music here) are from all over the world. you'll never find anyone on this forum showing prejudice towards anyone or any country.
i could not care less if you promote your site in the forums, but do it in the right place. there's no need to be obstinate about it. sure as hell don't a lecture. and it does look dodgey.
so, back to my original premise, read the rules, post your stuff in the right forum, and next time read carefully before you start saying a bunch of crap that is inaccurate and makes you look silly. |

what's wrong? now that i've proved your biases against me are unfounded, you can't come back and either apologize or prattle off more baseless accusations? weak. if you would have just read what i had posted with a little more effort, instead of just assuming what you understood and then reading your own crap into it, you wouldn't have ended up looking like a fool.
it's funny that you can get on your high horse and beat your chest, but as soon as it turns out your were completely wrong and your accusations unfounded, you cower. sucks when your moral foundation is pulled out from under you.
but please come back. no hard feelings here. |

sorry about that mate! but i take strong offense when being thrown in the 'evil american' camp. that goes double when the sh*t being thrown out there is so far out of context, it might as well have been made up. plus, the site does look dodgey. but, if she would have told us in the first place that it was the beta, i might have held off on that. lol
next time another lady posts here, i'll do my best not to be so aggressive, and i'll hold off any comments regarding the post. i may just ask to have it moved. i may ask to see pics first, though. lol
yeah, dude, i'm sure you've noticed by now that i'm pretty pedantic about some stuff and sorry if that spoils the fun for anyone. don't mean to. |
