Snovonne

Snovonne Bio:

Born in Slovakia, she grew up singing in choirs and writing songs. As a child she traveled a lot and took elementary classes in USA and England. At home she continued with a bilingual grammar school and then went to study Aesthetics and English at university.


Writing songs has been her no.1 passion since a very early age. Not much has changed in this direction. Snovonne keeps composing and recording new songs every day, filling her shelves with home made albums. Being an only child, she knew how to spend time by herself, so she was usually left drawing, painting or trying out some musical instrument. Most of all, being alone was the best way to focus on her dream. Her parents supported every decision she made knowing she’d stand by it until the end. Today, apart from writing and producing her songs, she takes care of the visual and graphic part as well: artwork, web design, photos (all those in the solo and band section), etc.


In her early teens she realized her ambition was a few sizes too large for the country she lives in, so apart from recording home albums she focused on demos to get her music abroad. At the age of 18 she started sending her material to labels all around the world. Knowing she would soon need a bunch of good musicians for live shows, she teamed up Peter Slamecka (now former keyboardist) to find the right people and put the Snovonne band together. Marek Hrabec (drums), Peter Bales (bass) and Martin Ralik (guitar) have been members since 2004. Ed Balko (guitar) came to replace the former second guitarist in summer 2005 and Peter Slamecka left the band in spring 2006. The newest member is Simon, a stuffed teddy Snovonne made to complete the stage act and to define the “handcrafted host” mentioned in one of her songs.


Demo 2004 got a positive response from Vinema Records (Houston, TX). In May 2005 Snovonne went to the studio to record her debut Tears are Pretty, which was then sent off to the US for mixing and mastering. She officially signed on Halloween 2005, however, up to this day Vinema keeps failing to release the album. Leaving this unpleasant issue behind, Snovonne is now concentrating on her new material. In October 2006 she moved to London (UK) where she is now living with Peter Bales (bass) and looking forward to working with new contacts.
