Sometimes It’s Best To Forget
Words and Music by: Thomas A. Buechi

Too many nights in LA, for a small town boy
I see the lights of the city, I miss the country joys
I miss sitting by the campfire, and singing old songs
Lord, I found out too late, that’s what I wanted all along

Too many small town dreams, they all turned to dust
Back when I hit the city, it was LA or bust
Thought I’d made it to the big time, Thought I had her trust
But big town girls, You know they make such a big time fuss

Sittin’ here thinkin’ ‘bout a time I left
Wonderin’ ‘bout a girl I always thought was the best
And wonderin’ if I’ll ever find a place I can rest
Sometimes it’s best to forget…

Too many hours in one single day
I’ve been working for a living, that’s the only way
I had dreamed of so much better, than a working man’s pay
I had stars in my eyes, but now the starts have gone away

Sittin’ here thinkin’ ‘bout a time I left
Wonderin’ ‘bout a girl I always thought was the best
And wonderin’ if I’ll ever find a place I can rest
Sometimes it’s best to forget…

I miss the simple life, but I can’t go back home
And the lines on my face, they’re beginning to show
Every day that I stay here, feel I’m growing so old
I’ve worked hard all my life, but I’ve got nothin’ that I can hold

Sittin’ here thinkin’ ‘bout a time I left
Wonderin’ ‘bout a girl I always thought was the best
And wonderin’ if I’ll ever find a place I can rest
Sometimes it’s best to forget…
Sometimes it’s best to forget…
Sometimes it’s best to forget…
