The response to FOUR YEARS OLD's CD release party on March 2nd, 2005, has been quick and overwhelming. Just days after completion, two FOUR YEARS OLD tracks were used in the soundtrack for a film that debuted at the prestigious USC School of CinemaTelevision; Internet radio stations began including FOUR YEARS OLD on their streaming playlists on March 27th; and industry professionals started taking notice.

NoHo>LA Magazine writes: "[FOUR YEARS OLD songs] are ballads closely related to those heard on... a romantic film soundtrack."

It's therapeutic music exploring the relatable aspects of loves, desires, hopes and fears. And unlike much of today's music, the lyrics also succeed in serving as standalone poetry.

Chris McCormick of Bandpromote writes: "FOUR YEARS OLD offers refreshing songs that are easy on the ear. The catchy lyrics and undeniable melodies make FOUR YEARS OLD worthy of
the praise they have already received and undoubtedly will receive."

Jay Matsueda and Kristofer McNeeley started Los Angeles-based FOUR YEARS OLD in the fall of 2003 and debuted as a live band on the main stage of The Knitting Factory Hollywood in February 2004. A collector's edition 5-track EP was available in local record stores for a limited time. Continuous songwriting, recording, and performing over the next year led to both their debut full length CD and their dance remix EP releases in March 2005.

While Matsueda/McNeeley are the core of FOUR YEARS OLD, they are joined live and on recordings by the likes of critically-acclaimed musicians. Flautist Katisse Buckingham has recorded with Andy Summers of The Police; bassist extraordinaire Ric Fierabracci has performed with Sting,Chick Corea, Dave Weckl, Yanni and many more; bassist Derek Frank's performing credits include world tours with Brian Auger's Oblivion Express; Matthew Nathan Greif (all electric guitar across the album) has been hailed by the great Chet Atkins as "one of the best young classical guitarists around today", and on and on

Jay Matsueda hails from the East Coast where he initially picked up the guitar as a tribute to a lost friend who himself played. Jay's performing experience prior to FOUR YEARS OLD was primarily with Los Angeles popular band Morris Lane.

Kristofer McNeeley grew up in the Midwest before escaping to L.A. for a career in entertainment. Kristofer has appeared as recurring characters on both WBs Birds Of Prey (2003) and CBS Thats Life (2001). Hes also appeared on stage at The Kennedy Center and as a soloist with the L.A. Philharmonic at the world-famous Hollywood Bowl.

FOUR YEARS OLD has begun local distribution of the debut CD (and it is also available worldwide via mail order). Additionally, FOUR YEARS OLD received its first international airplay April 16th, 2005, in Spain on Barcelona radio show "Nit Tarda." UCLA online DJ's added FOUR YEARS OLD to their playlists beginning Thursday, April 21st, 2005. Additionally, Jay performed a set in the Shibuya District of Tokyo at the popular "Ruby Room" on May 7th, 2005. After rolling off a successful show in Hollywood on 5/21, the band now prepares for a benefit concert for North Hollywood's venerable Kulak's Woodshed. Stay tuned for broadcast details.
