epidermis Bio:

the first signs of the epidermis we know today appeared in early 2002 when bassist spooner, guitarist mich and drummer luke decided to prove that hate to say i told you so by the hives could actually be made much much worse. to try and make their sound less criminally upsetting they recruited vocalist fay & guitarist rob and adopted the name opus 38.

after a lot of hating and stealing translations of rammstein lyrics it was clear that opus 38 were going nowhere, with the full line up not meeting once.

then one day in november 2002 luke rob and mich decided to have one last attempt at practising, spooner being on holiday. amazingly an awesome song emerged that day, ballad of the bumblebee. They decided to let go the fictitious fay, and spooner, it seeming obvious that he was dragging them down. he took his ball and went home to form a support group for physically impaired musicians (7of, who later sacked him. repeatedly. bassist sigh was recruited and rob accepted the terrible burden of vocals. finally they dropped the damning name of opus 38 and settled on epidermis, and for a time it was good.

after recording a very poor demo (md&a) on lukes camera in spring 2003 the band noticed a highly noticable problem. on listening to the recordings it became apparent that mich did not actually know how to play the songs.

following months of deliberation the band thought it easier to sack mich than reteach all the songs, so epidermis became a 3-piece in july 2003.

at xmas 2003 the band played live for the first time, quite badly, but over the following months the songs and the musicians improved a lot, as did their showmanship. on recording a second demo at a practise they realised that they needed a real studio. and money.

in the late summer of 2004 epidermis released their studio debut, the five track ep 'several hundred times slower than reality' (or the shitster ep in acronym form), to instant acclaim. All they had to do after that was get off their arses and do more important things with it than upload it to internet sites.....

in december 2004, to coincide with the bands charity release of wham's last xmas, sigh quit the band due to basic non-commital. they found a replacement, the very able andy, and exploded back on to the live scene soon after..
