The Wreckset
The Wreckset Bio:

The WreckSet has existed as an idea in the minds of both Matt (bass, vocals) and Bertie (vocals, guitar) since they met twelve years ago. Both had found acclaim in previous bands. Matt in Sleaford punks The Keystones, who released an EP on Nottingham based independent label Weird Records, and Bertie in Peterborough based new wave/rock four-piece Vow, who were featured on Bluefire Records' Snakebite City Nine compilation, and counted NOFX's Fat Mike among their fans. Both craved something musically and emotionally that they could not achieve in their respective bands so, deciding that it was about time they made some music together; they began to turn their ideas into songs.
Locking themselves away, they began recording on a borrowed 8-track. Over the period of two weeks, they set themselves to creating what was to become the beginnings of The WreckSet sound: an aggressive mix of metal, new wave, 1980's pop, and the best of what punk rock has to offer.

After initial personnel changes, Matt and Bertie are cemented in their sound by Nottingham based drummer Mark Ayling (ex of punk groups PCF and Protex Blue) and guitarist/vocalist “J” Parkin (ex of Keystones,Agent Zero and the Automatics)

“J” is an aggressive tight guitarist, who brought a wealth of new matierial and ideas, as well as a new and fresh approach, to the wreckSet’s sound

An energetic and creative musician, Mark immediately began contributing arrangement and structuring ideas towards the band’s existing material, right from the word go.

The WreckSet are influenced and inspired by many different bands, but the space and darkness of Joy Division, the ideology and energy of Warrior Soul and The Clash, the crushing guitars of Helmet, and the melodicism of Duran Duran and New Model Army are all elements of the band's sound.
The WreckSet are based in Lincoln and are swiftly building up a strong local fan base with explosive live performances.
