Samsahra Bio:
Few bands are able to capture the eccentricity and individuality needed to stimulate the emotions within an audience. Samsahra, a rising Minnesota band, is one of these few, Their genre cannot be classified as simply rock, heavy metal or industrial. Their style transcends the fundamental components of each of these genres. In other words, their style cannot be linked to one or two already well-established bands. This aspect alone sets them apart from the upcoming generic groups that are near replications of their own personal music deities, both musically and visually. Each of the five members of Samsahra utilizes their unique and distinctive musical talents to create extremely complex and versatile songs. The multifaceted music that Samsahra has thus far created was not accomplished overnight. Each member is self-taught on their instrument and has carried their talent on for years. In addition to this, each member has come from a previously accomplished band. Gary, Ryan, Chris and Dave all hail from a former Minneapolis band known as Faction. After playing the local scene for a couple of years they felt that something needed to change and started their search for a new lead vocalist and a new captivating sound. Enter Logan, the former lead singer of another local band, Halo Ground. A musician who was also on the lookout for a new project. Together, drawing their influences from such bands as Sevendust, Deftones, Nothingface, and Killswitch Engage, this band is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with.
Vocalist Logan delivers his poetic lyrics within an extremely broad tonal spectrum. He has the ability to scream with bloodcurdling frustration and fury, sing beautiful with a melodic sadness and everything in between. Guitarists Dave and Gary are extremely versatile from song to song which is a rare feature in most heavy bands today. There is nothing simplistic or conventional about their playing. Their dark melodies are just as elaborate and complex as their riffs. Drummer Chris and bassist Ryan provide the foundation for the heavy and aggressive sounds that are created. Chris's brutal and visceral drumbeats coincide perfectly with Ryan's violent yet intricate backbeats. The sadistic sounds created by the combination of immense instrumental talent gives birth to the sound that has come to be known as Samsahra. Its time to bring music back to the masses and let the heavy hitters rise again!
