<itunes:summary>Weng formed in early 2001 - Greg and Robbie got Stocker involved in 'jamming' and after impressing Robbie's mum with drumless Coldplay and Oasis covers through the ceiling of her kitchen, a drummer was found in an Australian that lived next door to Greg, and the band was born. The name spawned from older fast boys taking the piss, saying all they could hear was the noise of our guitars ('wengggg...'), a good enough name for us. Without a demo, a brief chat with the esquires manager lead to our first gig at Bedford Esquires on Friday 1st June 2001. We played songs which are now on the album, along with others only ever played once such as 'don't worry' and 'please save me’, and were described as sounding like Embrace, Travis and the Longpigs. The drummer was replaced after leaving for his native land and before we knew it we'd played 5 gigs in 6 months, and without earning a penny, spirits were low...<br />
<br />
   After having 2002 off and Greg moving to study at university in Sheffield (the real one), a split was on the cards. In 2003 we, along with Greg's Dad decided that we should get off our arses and record something, so a quality birthday present and some extra money was gathered, and 4 days in a studio was booked for the Easter break. The band called up Kieran, long time friend, University of Sheffield student and former member of Morehen Jain to drum, and with just two rehearsals under the belt, we set off to Oxford's Truck Studios to record the most disorganised album in the history of recorded sound. And here it is, ‘for she who knows’. The album is very eclectic, consisting of Britpop tunes (’one man team‘ and ‘what we do‘), piano-lead tunes, (‘is it time that we said goodbye?’ and ‘fortune teller’), rockier songs and ballads to boot. And what do you know it sounds great, we love it.</itunes:summary>
