Like the ancient instrument from which the band derived its name, Sistrum takes its inspiration from the universal elements and from all corners of musical influence. Hailing from Phoenix, Arizona, the band combines an earthy element from country, a moody and soulful component from the blues, and the edgy elements of rock and metal to form a modern and uncompromising sound that is all their own.

At the heart of Sistrum is Wendy Rae Mason’s writing. Her autobiography is played out in prose, while allowing the performance to add the punctuation.
