Ravings of a Madman
Ravings of a Madman Bio:

Ravings of a Madman, (Jeremiah Hammon guitar, vocals, Shane Taylor bass and Jeremy Pappenfus drums) sites one goal of Montanas premiere metal band, World Domination. The pursuit of perfection and never say die attitude are some of the reasons Ravings has jumped to the forefront of the states music scene.

Ravings of a Madman was brought to life in the winter of 2003-04 in Bozeman, Montana. Upon birth the band immediately started writing and practicing material. Within a few months the Madmen had enough original material to brutalize a crowd for an hour and a half solid. With a little help from friends and local Montana bands, Ravings of a Madman were able to introduce their version of heavy music to the metal/punk scene. As the band played more and more, the fever was spreading, eventually infecting Nevada and Utah. The band started receiving local radio play in Montana, and with a little persistence, full rotation on internet radio. As the band began to record their debut album they could feel something special was headed their way.

Disguising itself as a catastrophe the band lost two of its members, due to the lack of drive and determination as well as personal choices. Not wanting to lose its foothold as Montanas premiere heavy metal act, the two remaining members (Shane Taylor and Jeremiah Hammon), wasted no time in finishing the album and searching for a new drummer. Contacting local drummer, Jeremy Pappenfus solidified the line-up. Headed back into the practice shed and enduring some long and hell-ish practice sessions, Ravings of a Madman once again emerged from the shed, tighter and heavier than ever before.

Ravings of a Madman released its debut album Drowning Under Heaven in November 2005 and have been pushing the cd relentlessly. With a sound described as 80s thrash spawned with 90s power groove crossed with a spice of melodic hardcore, one is succumbed to their new style of metal. Odd time changes, heavy riffing and heart pounding rhythm creates the groove the locals call all their own. Drawn from influences such as; Metallica, G nR, Pantera, Mudvayne and Jimi Hendrix, the band has created a style they like to call trailer thrash.

On its one stop in Montana, Ravings of a Madman was the only local band to play the Northwest Jagerfest (Stompin through the Rockies). They have also played along side national acts such as; Single Bullet Theory, Metal Church, Five Foot Thick and Hemlock. Hosting a benefit show for the hurricane Katrina victims and sponsored by the Red Cross, Ravings also shows they like to give back , raising $1500 in support of the relief effort.

Ravings of a Madman are on a quest for excellence and will never stop short of their goal. Armed with talent, drive and passion, there is no telling of what the future may hold for this band.

This song is about the stupidity of suicide and how anyone thinks that rotting in the ground is better than dealing with some problems is beyond me
