Mr. Stormie
Mr. Stormie Bio:

Born on February 25, 1974 on the island of Trinidad, Emile C. Thomas began singing at the early age of five in the church where his mother was part of the choir and vestry. By seven, Emile wrote his first song along with a number of poems and started playing the recorder, bass, flute, guitar, and drums.

Music was always present in the household, but especially Calypso, since it is the music of Trinidad as well as reggae. Emile started getting into reggae music after hearing such musicians as Bob Marley, Shabba Ranks, Supercat, and Buju Banton. While going to school in Trinidad, he began to work on his skills as a reggae artist. It wasn't until winning his first talent show that he began to earn the respect he deserved.

At age 13, Emile, along with his mother and sister, moved to the U. S. where they resided in Maryland. Throughout high school he continued to battle during lunch to showoff his skills as a reggae singer. In an effort to broaden his musical experience, Emile joined the Jazz Singers and Drama Club at school where on numerous occasions he was asked to sing the national anthem at the Cap Center, once home of the Washington Capitals.

After graduating high school, Emile spent several years in the Navy, where he got the nickname Quietstorm, which was later changed to Mr. Stormie. His skills really began to shine at a talent show on his ship where he performed with a few friends, in which he sang a reggae part…and Mr. Stormie was born.

As the self proclaimed Reggae Marquis, Mr. Stormie was a special guest at a reggae show, headlined by such artists as General Degree and Chico. He continues to write poetry and strengthen his songwriting skills by continually performing and writing music. Most recently he started his own label, Stormcave Entertainment, which will soon be releasing his latest album as well as albums from other new up and coming artists such as Heat, a pop girl group from Michigan.

Mr. Stormie plans to continue performing reggae music with the likes such as Beenie Man, Mr. Vegas, Shaggy, Sean Paul, Bounty Killer, Shabba, Buju, Spragga Benz, and the Marley family, but with his little own Trinidad twist to his style to show his uniqueness.
