Hi there, we are a 4 piece post/hardcore band from Cumnock, East Ayrshire in South West Scotland.
The band consists of:
David Samson - Vox & guitar.
Chris King - guitar.
Mark Whitelaw - bass.
Darren Smith - drums & backing vox.
Neil Mills - Synth

Influences Include:
Sunny Day Real Estate, Mineral, At the Drive-in, Cursive, Benton falls, Settlefish, Appleseed Cast, Clair De Lune, Death Cab For Cutie, My Vitriol, Coheed and Cambria, Desaparecidos, the Gloria record, Thursday, The Mars Volta, Sparta, Faraquet, American Football,Jimmy Eat World,Get up Kids,glassjaw.

Our gig venues include, the Cathouse & King Tuts in Glasgow. supporting Dawn Of The Replicants,that was fun.We also supported Settlefish @ Bar Bloc in Glasgow. We have played live on Sub City Radio in Glasgow. weve also had one of our songs played on Radio 1FM Scotland & XFM. The song they played (Plagiarism is the new theft) was released on a compilation EP (glowing underground) on the Fierce Panda record label. The Smile played at T in the park (2005) in the T Break tent.

Latest news - The smiles new EP entitled "Days we turn on ourselves" is now complete. The songs, "Cuts and Bruises", "Heres looking at you kid" & "Sadness, is that a gun in your pocket" are taken from the new EP and Ive put them on this site for your listening/downloading pleasure (hope you enjoy it) if you want to hear more of the EP, it will be available from future gigs for 4.00. If anyone would like to request some different Smile songs for downloading Ill change them, Ihave plenty more where they came from.
