At Gunpoint
At Gunpoint Bio:

At Gunpoint formed in February 2002 out of East Meadow, NY (Long Island). The group incorporates styles of melodic hard rock, metal and alternative into its music, citing many diverse influences for their sound. At Gunpoint's lineup consists of Mike de Gruchy (Guitar/Vocals) and James Olenyk (Bass), as they're currently seeking a new drummer.

On 2/17/2004, the band released their debut; a 5-song CD entitled Black Skies EP. It was named after the closing track on the record (When Black Skies Came Falling), a song referencing patriotism and anti-terrorism in response to the 9/11 attacks. Unfortunately, due to numerous reasons, on 8/27/2004, Flaherty quit At Gunpoint. In October 2004, after unsuccessful attempts at finding his replacement, de Gruchy and Olenyk agreed to put the band on indefinite hiatus. Even though At Gunpoint was (for the most part) out of the public eye for the next 4 3/4 years, they were far from dead, as a change of plans soon followed.

In January 2005, de Gruchy and Olenyk rekindled their thoughts and planned out At Gunpoint’s 2nd CD, taking all of the band’s leftover songs to make a 16-track, 77 minute epic. They selected Justin Reinstein to produce the effort. Due to complicated circumstances, Flaherty was not a part of this recording, as it was purposely kept at a low-profile from nearly everyone. Instead of finding a new drummer or hiring a session musician, computerized drums were programmed on the record, combining Flaherty’s original beats/patterns with de Gruchy's own modifications.

Due to various delays and setbacks beyond belief, the album was held up for years. Finally, on 6/25/2009, At Gunpoint (a.k.a. self-titled) was released; the band's first batch of new material in nearly 5 1/2 years. Out of the new album's 16 songs, 4 "singles" have been chosen and posted on their MySpace page.

The band is now concentrating on finding a new drummer. Please contact them if interested.

Until At Gunpoint's official website is completely setup, please check the band's MySpace page regularly to see what's new with the band. Any questions or comments regarding At Gunpoint are more then welcome.
