Raymond Rice Bio:
I started playing guitar early teens in Skiffle groups . Started playing pubs in the early sixties covers on mainly american artists , Holly, Everlys, D. Eddy, Elvis, Cochran etc. Worked with Ron Bowdery a great writer & guitarist who I still collaborate with now, he is a real insparation to me. Went Germany 1965 a blues /jazz outfit called Lester Square & the GTs. The sax player was Elton Dean who went on the be one of best free jazz players in the U.K Soft Machine etc. The drummer was John dummer who also had a succesfull blues band. Returned to U.K carried on playing Semi-Pro clubs Pubs etc with Ron bowdery for a number of years which I consider my most enjoable period, a great band called Pepys Diary. Retired from playing live some years ago now. I tend to write latin flavourd music now I think the rythms are more sofisticated & have more depth.I will be working on blues & Jazz orientated compositions soon with some hot guitar playing hopefully.I may be working with Ron Bowdery on some compositions ,watch this space . I you have made any comments in my guestbook that would be good but for some reason I cant access them I have ask USBW to sort but they have not responded .I will be adding more of my music soon & hopefully better recorded .thanks for your support Raymond Rice . |
