Chris Cohen, is a singer/songwriter who is driven by a strong passion for music. While attending college it was clearly evident, working hard to produce heartfelt music that speaks to enlighten, comfort and inspire.
Cohens melodic/adult contemporary songs embed intriguing lyrics, ambient tasteful sounds with playful rhythms and haunting melodies. An electro-acoustic palette that is somewhere along the avenues of bands like Coldplay, Keane and The Fray, where colorful pianos and warm guitars blend well and subtly add depth to a somewhat melancholic sound. Lyrically, most of the songs written are directly related to Cohens personal life.
Life is such a mystery and I think we learn so much because of that. Ive come to the realization that we definitely learn more about ourselves when we lose something thats irreplaceable. Everything I write is and feels real to me, says Chris.
Cohens vocals sound refreshingly raw and they really speak to the listener, using falsetto frequently to portray emotion. For the moment, hes currently in the studio recording his first self produced debut album scheduled for release in 2009.I think it will be a record that most people can relate to, a record that was written at a point in my life where nothing seemed to make sense, a series of lifeless moments where hope was the only remedy for the confusion.The message this record hopes to convey is simple: Letting go of the past is one of lifes greatest challenges, but when we finally do, we definitely come out stronger and wiser as people than we were before. Id like to thank my family and friends who have kept me sane through it all and to this day continue to encourage and inspire me everyday. I love you guys!
