<itunes:summary>When I was very young my father would take my brother and I to McDonalds in his faded light blue eight track playin pinto. I would always say play Led Zeppelin, play Led Zeppelin. My dad was a real rocker. Every week he would tape his favorite radio rock hour on stereo X. He bought me many albums such as the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Bloodrock and the James Gang.
In grade school my friend Jerry and I had to take band class but wanting to play the drums instead, we were expelled from the class for banging on the music stands. Always getting into trouble. That’s just the way we played it.
At eighteen I joined the Navy. This being the most reckless mistake of my life, and yet with out it I don’t think I would be telling you this story.
After my discharge, the first day I got home, my brother (John Gregory Coray) and I went to a music store and I bought my first guitar. John had been playing since he was twelve or thirteen years old so he gave me some lessons.
A year and half latter I joined my first band (COZWAY) we were together for a few years and some how we managed to really pull in a crowd. Every weekend we would jam and our fan base would just keep growing. They just kept coming. It was starting to get out of control.
There was absolutely no more room in the house. You'd go to get somthing out of the closet, but oh no! forget that idea, there was five or ten people in each closet, drinkin beer, doin lines and some other things I won't even mention. And the thing that always astonished me and the band, was our jam house was located about two blocks from the Murray Utah police station. Hell they never botherd us. I don't even think the cops new what was happening. Until one weekend, knock, knock, knock. Surprised? hell no. We knew it was all going to come crashing down some day.
We had a lot of fun in the "Cozway house" I miss those days.
Isn't it fun to be young and not have to worry about such things. I really miss rockin out like that and not having a care in the world.
After COZWAY there were a number of bands I some how molded or became a part of:
CRYOLITH, WIRED WITCH, CONTRAST, THIRDWISH, BONESHELF and COZWAY are the bands that I cherished the most.
And then I hit the road.
From the time my last band faded away until the dawn of 2004, I had traveled just about every where in North America you could go. I never stopped playing or writing.
I built a small recording studio in my truck so I could write songs on the road.
I never gave up my recording or my writing. This will be my second official publication of music. The first (13oclock) I worked on with former lead singer Jason Carrion.
I am very proud of "Death of an Angel" and the direction That It has taken me to. I've gone back to the basic sound I love. That grip it and rip it guitar I love so much.
