DJ MindTrip Bio:
DJ MindTrip is a DJ/Producer and singer/songwriter with a different sound. He doesn't fit the role of a black artist and won't try to be either. He's the alternative to what's happening in music. By using live beats and grooves with no sampling he has created a raw but original sound. He is someone who is an outsider among he own musically peers. He was born in Brooklyn,NY and grew up in foster care system. It was music which was the saving grace for him. The music of Motown,West end,Staxx Records and Salsoul records were the record which he was inspired as a child. Later on he was inspired by hip-hop and dance producers like Jellybean, Cole/Clivilles,Marly Marl,Teddy Riley and Jazzy B. As a Dj he was lucky enough to spin at the limelight,Soundfactory and Webster hall while still in high school. At the same time he produce three succesful college radio shows. He stepped out of djing for about 7 years and moved to vermont. In 2004 he returned to djing with a monthy night called Bear Heat. It ran for two years until the club lost it's lease. After years of helping other artists behind the scenes with their music. DJ MindTrip decided to step out of the dj booth and step on to center stage as a singer. So in 2006 he moved back to ny and started to record his debut album. In early 2007 he was recording songs for his album. The album has gone thru many changes and was finally finished in December of 2007. The Devils Child Volume 1 The Valley Of The Souls is the tittle of this album and hopefully a change in popular music. The album is a protest to any black artist who has been labeled as soul when their not. But he doesn't forget his club roots and has some club jams.
