WITHIN OUR BLOOD

Forever, seems exposed
for time can't heal our scars
questions of reason are half
greed and shame, filth and pain
the demons around me will
never loosen their hold
who came from beneath me
had found my poetry cold

... a bell that forever tolls
... a wind that forever blows
I breathe while I fear the end
Who sees inside my soul of darkness?

Cover my dying flame
while death drips on like falling rain
I relive the lie, IŽll crawl and die
one day IŽll feel the flame burn out
atone my guilt amongst my shame
and spill my blood, bleed out the pain
rinse your eyes, rinse your mind
to feel the beast awake inside

I hear a lifeless call
weeping within the storm
my hands unfold your pure
heart like a dying rose
Within our darkest fate
withered our devious eyes
the beast has awakened
set to devour our souls

at life’s end, strength seems so weak and vain
at life’s end, prayers on the 11th hour
at life’s end, on a god we all depend
