Takoma Star
Takoma Star Bio:

In 1996 Danny B (then playing lead guitar in Baby Ray Gun) started writing songs for a project that would become his baby, a project that over the next ten years would take on a life of its own and see a dozen haircuts, too many beards to mention and as many break ups as a heart can take. Initially called Feelium the project soon became Takoma and then Takoma Star.

Passion for all genres and styles of music was what pushed Takoma Star forward. It was these equal measures of listening to punk and rock while loving the melodies of the beach boys and Billy Joel that shaped that sound. An early review of the first line up in a college magazine suggested the sound was "like a car crash where The Knack hit Dinosaur Jnr. head on" this still seems to remain to this day where heavy and melodic combine to make mosh pit friendly sing alongs.

During his time away from the project Danny B had started his own label (Helveticon Records) with a roster of great metal acts, kept his other projects Dead Girl Inc. and Flight 19 writing and recording, opened a studio and most importantly become a father.

After too many line up changes to remember and times of neglect where the whole project was shelved and then dusted off (during which time Danny played with Fortunes Lost, Janet Theory, Genuine Cane, Proffesor Spank Me Hard and the Monkey Boys and a milion other bands) Danny B was inspired to get it together properly this time.

This inspiration came in the form of Nick from Ventura Drive, Danny remembers "I was at college with Nick years ago and then he turned up at a venue where I was doing sound one night, I was watching his band from the mixing booth and was blown away. That made me want to do this project again, I forgot how great that type of music could sound when it was done properly by an awesome band"

Little Dave was introduced to Danny by a mutual friend and the musical chemistry was just there. Whatever it was that was missing before from the Takoma Star sound was found in Little Dave's drumming. "It was the first time in ages I actually enjoyed playing with someone and Dave instinctively knew exactly where I was going with the tracks" says Danny.

So 2006 has come around, its ten years since Takoma Star was thought up and now its time for it to be unleashed. 2006 will see the release of two Takoma star Albums and a heavy touring schedule.
