Stacey Scott
Stacey Scott Bio:

Stacey Scott has lived in Suffolk all her life. First in Woodbridge then Ipswich and now settled in Felixstowe with her family. She has 3 children and Is married to Mark, her childhood sweatheart who she went to school with. They first meet when she was about 14 and were together for quite a while. Some years later after finishing school, they ended up working at the same place without knowing and the rest was history! They have been together 11 years and married now for 4. Stacey has always loved music and had a passion for it from an early age, although she has never actually been taught how to play. "I've just had the ability to pick instruments up and play music by ear".Stacey says. Her first instrument was playing a recorder at around 6yrs old. Ever since then she decided this was what she wanted to do. So from an early age, she taught myself to play the guitar, piano, drums, and the violin amongst many others. She even got her grandad to show her how to play the spoons and played the spoons around the house and drove everyone crazy!! All the music ended up being put on the back burner for some time while Stacey had a family and became a very busy mum! "My children mean the world to me and they love music and singing too".She says. Now they are a little older Stacey is able to concentrate on her biggest passion, singing and writing music. She picked up a guitar again only about 6 months ago and after being inspired and encouraged by friends to play again, She started to sing and play live at open mic nights and gigs around the Ipswich area. Life inspires her to write. She loves to write songs about people, people who are having alot of troubles in their life, people who have touched her in some way...and from sad and happy memories from her past. Even snip bits of conversations that she heard that day! "I was having a conversation with a good friend just the other day and one thing she said stayed in my head. I went home and wrote a song based on the 4 words she said to me". Stacey is lucky in the fact that she can pick up almost any instrument and seem to know how to play it. She is teaching herself the flute and harmonica at the moment. "My gradad used to play the harmonica and I have written a song about him and want to have a harmonica in the final song so I am teaching myself to play so that I can do that" As far as vocals are concerned she has had no vocal training. She was always singing into the hair brush in front of the mirror in her bedroom like most girls did. She was also in the school choir and did many productions at school. She did sing at college in productions too. Right now Stacey is concentraiting on playing her songs around Ipswich and gaining more experience and confidence every day! She loves to hear other musicians play too and share in the experience. Her Husband, family and friends have been fantastic and supported her so much in the last year. Its really given her that boost to believe in herself and produce more songs. She would like to broaden her horizons and is in the process of making an Album in a recording studio! Also this year she has several radio interviews! " I'm so excited about all of this now and never knowing whats going to happen next is the best bit!!! I am so lucky to have the support from the people I love" "Like your music some of it reminds me of the early Tracey Thorn LP with that raw guitar sound keep it up" Quote from Scott This girl goes from strength to strength. Building more experience and confidence the more she performs (which is what everyone needs to grow as an artist). An exceptional performance this evening singing 'Disconnected' Suffolk Song Writers and the crowd asked her for another performance! and she obliged by singing 'Martha'. Its great to see musicians 'come into their own' and cultivate their material and see it all come to life. There is a difference between taking the easy route and digging deep to find that 'something' Quote from 'wearemusical suffolk' "I liked "Martha" because it tells a story, it's a little sad."quote anon "I like the vocal style of both songs. I would certainly like to hear some more by this artist."Quote Anon "Stacey is a talented young lady"Quote Anon "The future looks optimistic for this profound acoustic solo artist and we are all looking forward to hearing more material and seeing where Stacey Scott is heading in the near future!"
