Shadow Status Bio:
SHADOW STATUS is an American Hard Rock Band from Michigan comprised of five musicians including Brian Hillard (vocals, lyrics), Bryan Calkins (percussions), Justin Post (bass), Jordan Swears (guitars) and Gary H. Thomas (guitars).
SHADOW STATUS has been around since 2005 and playing in the West Michigan area. The Band started out playing locally in Grand Rapids, MI for fun and since then have focused on becoming a Band with original quality and emphasis. Their sound could be described as Alternative Groove-Oriented Hard Rock and their heavy influences as a band range from bands like The Deftones, Chevelle, Breaking Benjamin, and Tool. “Music is a Power Source for which People Live and Breathe through”
Over the past few years the band has played many times live on WZZM’s, “Take Five and Company” program. In 2008 the guys played an acoustic version of “The Nine” Aug 6th, 2009 a version of “Rats Kingdom” was aired, and on Dec 16th 2010 “Parasite” was also played acoustically in celebration of the bands continued local Support from WGRD 97.9.
The band was also added onto the 2010 WGRD 97.9 Bootleg CD at this time as mentioned on “Take Five” and was featured alongside many other well known bands such as Taproot, Skillet, Sevendust, Finger Eleven, Puddle of Mudd, Atom Smash and many more. This album can be purchased at Best Buy, and all the proceeds from the sale of this CD go to benefit Grand Rapids Public Schools.
SHADOW STATUS released their first self titled full length album in November of 2011, and is currently working on their second album with new guitarist Gary Thomas. |
