Open Road

Open Road Bio:

We originate from the band, Two Days Late. We are based in Wales from the towns Newport and Cwmbran.

Basically...the band started with Gavin the guitarist and singer and Robert the bassist who met before anyone else. Lewis and Rob had already met through Rob's ex girlfriend who was one on Lewis's best friends but they didnt know that the next time they would meet would be in a band together.

Rob and Gavin were later joined by Richard the guitarist and they worked on many songs. Then Dan the drummer joined and a day later Lewis the keyboarder joined to complete the bands line-up.
We picked up a few singers along the way but we werent happy with them and we finally got Gavin as the singer. We write all our own music and love what we do.

We havent really got a style of music, many people can easily guess who our influences are just by how some of the songs are played or sung. Gavins powerful vocals, song ideas and guitar riffs, Richards awesome guitar solo's, Rob's cool bass plucking and song ideas, Dan's catchy drum beats and Lewis's catchy and sometimes cheesy but surprisingly fitting keyboard riffs make Two Days Late an amazing and unique band.

Two Days Late was destined to end right from the beginning and it did as we lost Rob when he moved to Australia recently and we also lost Richard when he moved to Canterbury.

We gained a new drummer...Dave who was originally playing drums for us when we performed Boulevard of Broken Songs, Dan became the bassist replacing Rob but he still plays drums for the original material.
Now we had all our members we had to come up with a new name, it was a long and hard process and we finally come up with a name that no one has because it is an anagram of Rob's name...Robert Davis. After a while we decided we were'nt at all happy with our new name...we went through a gruelling process of choosing a new name and we finally came out with Open Road.

After a few months of being known as Open Road, our popularity increased immensly, with gigs at local rugby clubs, schools and more recently, Teen Spirit in Newport TJ's. Soon we lost another bassist and gained another just a as quickly. Until now, Lewis was the only one who lived in Cwmbran, the newest member James lives not only in Cwmbran also, but in the same district area.

So now you all know a bit about us we'd appreciate some feedback and support. We have all agreed that our aim isnt to be rich and famous (well that would be nice) but just to be known would be a great acheivement.
