Nels Bio:
Passion, commitment, style and an urge for fusion. Where convention and originality meet is where you find Nels. When you listen, a sense of familiarity is formed and yet you can't quite put your finger on it. That is her goal. If you need the driving rhythm of rock, she has a song you'll love. If you prefer the groove of R&B or the soul of gospel, you will feel at home, because amidst the potpourri of her songs you are sure to find a flavor you need and a new one to open yourself up to.
Touring the western United States, based out of San Diego, California, with the rock band AcidNine gave Nels the experience and exposure that led to a recording contract after only a year with the band. While touring, AcidNine became a featured artist on every local station in the cities they played, as well as earning placement on shows for MTV. As a powerful force within the group, Nels' energy inspired other girls to want to front bands. After AcidNine's dismantle in 2003 Nels decided to persue her own music.
Less than six months later she had a demo deal and had defeated over 300 other performers for the chance to play at the world famous Apollo in New York City on the nationally syndicated program, Showtime at the Apollo. While there, she impressed the show's producers, Depasse Entertainment Group, and was offered a management contract. In the year with them, she sold songs to Walt Disney. Wanting to explore a more ambitious project, Nels went to New York and worked with producers for 50 cent, Duran Duran and Brittany Spears.
After a prolonged period in the studio, Nels is itching to get back to where she thrives: the stage. Currently she is organizing a nationwide tour, while shopping for a label.
