Jimi Ninja
Jimi Ninja Bio:

Born in Thailand during the Vietnam War, Jimi came to the states, specifically, Texas when he was two. I was raised in west Texas in a very mixed culture because of the integration of the military at the time. "A lot of men left the states alone and full of racism and came back brothers." This rich multicultural upbringing brought many sounds into the Ninja Household. "My dads a big fan of Oldies and my mom always had the 8 track blasting with either Kenny Rogers or Lionel Ritchie. I was huge into break dancing, Break'n 2 Electric Boogaloo, Beet Street,... "This is the first time I remember being touched by music, then when I was 10 I saw James Taylor on PBS and began balling and didn't know why, I knew there was something special about music!"

When he was 10 years old he watched folk singer James Taylor on TV and cried. He was touched. His youth was filled with music blasting from the 8-track player cause his mom loved Lionel Richie and Kenny Rogers and his dad loved the soulful oldies. Jimi Ninja honors a deep affection for R&B, Soul, early Hip Hop and Rock evidenced in his cutting edged style. He started playing the guitar in college. Jimi remembers, "The guitar is one of my passions. It always amazed me. I taught myself the chords by listening and practicing with rock songs by AeroSmith for example. Even then I could separate the guitar from the other instruments. I listened intently and learned the chords." Jimi Ninja's debut CD Beautiful Monster boasts of twelve completed tracks destined to slam speakers and rock the house. Each track screams of electric instrumentals powered by commanding vocals and lyrics that rise to the occasion. The CD's title is taken from the love-lost song "Angel." Jimi relates, "the second line talks about the dichotomy of a woman who is like an angel but at the same time she can rip you into two. She is so beautiful until she hurts you then she morphs into a monster but she is still beautiful." Jimi added, "Women are metaphorically our angels. They can help change us to be better men and live better lives."
