Glasspack
Glasspack Bio:

Glasspack is a group of song writers/musicians, who through an amazing and wonderful set of circumstances came together and are now in the process of recording their second cd. They play a wide range of music as each song writer has his own style. They love to play good music and have fun. Their first cd -Return Your Empties- Three songs of which were sent to the CBC's Great Canadian Music Dream Contest and made the short list of the final 15 bands from Ontario. With air play in B.C. Sask. Israel, Malta and Hanover On., Glasspack is well on the way to success. The first cd was a blast to record and now the second cd is well on the way and should be finished late summer or fall, (2005). Glasspack plays cover songs too. The Stones, Santana, Clapton, BB King etc. They "Glasspack the hell out of it" most times, and customize the sets for each performance. We can play all covers, or all original songs, and the jokes are free. Blues, rock, and rock 'n' roll, are their favourites but they never know how a new song is going to turn out, hence, the first cd is a mix of wonderful styles, from almost country, to rock, and of course blues. If you have a special song they will try to learn it and play it for your gig.

Glasspack is; Ian, George, Mark, Chris.
Ian Stone; Guitar, harmonica, vocals. Ian has been around the music business most of his life. He's one of Glasspack's founders and he's the oldest member of Glasspack. He played for years as the front man with the D.W. Blues band, and then he was with Stranger, a rock band from the late 70s early 80s. They recorded an album with some commercial success. One of their songs had national air play. Ian is also one of Glasspack's most prolific song writers and never fails to surprise us with a new song almost every rehearsal.

Crazy Uncle George; Drums, percussion, vocals. This guy is a music machine. George's background is so full of music we can't put it all down here. George took his first music lesson when he was five years old, now at 47 he's just thriving on the tunes that the guys bring out. George has played with dozens of bands, freelance drumming, top 40 rock, country and rock & blues, jazz, all over Ontario, from the Silver Dollar room in Toronto to playing acoustic guitar & singing at a psychic fair in Timmons. He's a drummer/singer and has almost perfect rhythm. Not too fancy but solid as a rock. He's always playing or recording with a band somewhere. Glasspack has George singing as well as drumming. He insists that he's not a singer, but he's a natural blues singer, so we keep him singing. George is a good writer too. He says," Writing music is easy. Just pick a style and write."

Mark Southcott; Lead & rhythm guitars, vocals. Another founding member of Glasspack. Mark's the one we put on the spot for looking after our finances. A huge Frank Zappa fan, Mark is always expanding our music with his progressive outlook. Not just a rocker, he's played in polka bands in Alberta, jazz bands in B.C, and punk bands in England. We're glad he came back to Ontario. Mark provides us with a sense of humour in the music, like Johnny Hashijuana from the first cd. The guys all know we wouldn't be Glasspack without him.

Chris Stewart; Bass, vocals. Chris was born in Scotland and came to Canada when he was four years old. He is a song writer and bassist extraordinaire. There is no limit to his ability. He brings a new life to Glasspack. He brings a song in and gives it to Ian or George to sing. (He's so kind - ha ha !!) All of his songs are great as you will hear on the next cd. Chris is a rocker who likes to listen to do-wop music. We can be thankful he came to Canada when he did. Keep those new songs coming Chris.
