The music of Franklin Moore is a genre-defying blend of rock, jazz, classical, blues, country, folk and world music played on a steel-string guitar. Moore, who hails from Winston-Salem, NC, draws influences from acoustic guitarists such as Leo Kottke and Preston Reed and electric guitarists such as Steve Morse and Yngwie Malmsteen. As one music reviewer put it, although Franklin has lots of influences, he creates his own unique style. Moores uniqueness and virtuosity was described this way by a club owner after a recent performance: Franklin plays guitar like I've never witnessed before. He is a master at his instrument. Strongly grounded in both rhythm and melody, Moores music avoids the repetitive arpeggiation typical of much solo guitar music. Rather, he seamlessly combines fingerstyle, two-handed tapping, power strumming, and single-note runs into an unconventional yet highly accessible approach that is both excitingly original and strangely familiar at the same time.

Moores debut CD, Motive Force was released in April 2004. In addition to selling well at performances, it has sold via the Internet across the United States and in several European countries. Motive Force is also receiving both traditional and Internet radio airplay in America and abroad. One of Moores songs was included in an Oasis CD sampler which was distributed to over 500 acoustic radio stations across the country. Moore was also interviewed at WGWG, the radio station of Gardner-Webb University, Boiling Springs, NC as publicity for his performance at the 2004 Art of Sound Music Festival in Shelby, NC.

Moore is currently performing throughout North Carolina, sharing his unique musical vision with his audiences. One has only to witness one of his performances to become captivated by the originality of his approach. As club owner and musician David Downing put it, Dont expect Franklin Moore to stay local for long.
