Flask Bio:

Who are Flask?

What are they about?

Where have you been?

Flask formed in 2003. Their first gig was at The Twist in Colchester in the winter of that year, it went down well and they have since been appearing there on a regular basis. Throughout 2004 flask spent a lot of time getting their name known, playing as often as they could in venues around Essex and into London. In the summer of 2005 Flask entered the Harlow Square Rock Contest, which they went on to win beating popular bands from all over Essex. However after winning the contest their drummer at the time, John Rollinson, decided it wasnt for him, and left the band. This was a real set back and it looked like the band was no more! Ads were placed everywhere and they held lots of auditions, but no one seemed suitable. Just as they were thinking about throwing in the towel Andy Barford answered their ad, he came for an audition and fitted in straight away. They are now back on track ready to pick up where they left off, Andy Barford on drums, Richard Bennet on the bass Lloyd Winn on lead guitar and Simon Elms on guitar and vocals. 2006 will be their year.

At Flask show and you will witness a raw, hard-hitting, rock band playing original, thoughtfully written rock songs. You will see an eager crowd singing along with the stylishly distinguished lyrics and catchy but original melodies. You will get involved with the electric, throbbing energy this rock band produces. Listen hard and you may detect a hint of Led Zeppelin, The Doors and The Who. You might hear the occasional tone of Queen, Bowie or Pink Floyd. These are just some of the influences weaving their subtle presence into Flasks music. Whether its a guitar riff tearing through the atmosphere, a drum fill or bass lick thundering through the earth. Every ingredient of a Flask show is performed with the passion and confidence that has been gained from over two years of regular gigging experience throughout Essex and London. Flask set themselves aside from the bands that write one identical song after another, a Flask show will contain a diverse montage of musical creativity without loosing the genuine raw feel of an organic four-piece rock band, and They immensely appreciate every ounce of support offered to them by their ever-increasing fan base.
