Defined by their richly textured songs filled with odd rhythms, and razor tight breaks they will caress you with soothing melody then devastate you with blistering power. Born of Ashes combine positive, politically inflected lyrics with technical brutality, and structural eccentricities, all delivered with surgical precision and a full-bodied crunch that will leave you breathless. In the short time since their formation in early 2003, Born of Ashes members Tyler, Shawn, Daryl, Kevin, and Colin have become a driving force within the Vancouver music scene. With the completion of their full length LP “A Force That Gives Us Meaningt and their hectic live performance schedule, it is clear that Born of Ashes know exactly what they want and how to get it. They can attribute much of this to their abundance of hard work and years of experience in previous bands such as Dead by Dawn, Voices Fade, and Synthetic Minister.
Their jaw dropping, flailing, chaotic live show is where Born of Ashes truly shines. Due to their wide range of influences and a defiance of genre boundaries they find themselves on some extremely varied bills. Playing with all styles of metal, punk, rock, and post-punk bands including opening spots for bands like Raised Fist, and Infernal Majesty. Whether they're performing at The North West Metal Fest, headlining Pub 340 for The Nerve's Festival of Guns or playing a local all-ages show, they take the stage by force with their charismatic personalities and unparalleled levels of energy, delivering nothing short of awe-inspiring intensity every time.
