OK...i was going to review "new year" cause it was first on your page...but it sounds a lot like the track by sevrine baron i just review. So i picked your trance track instead. Here it is:
OK..the first fx is cool. The bassline hits pretty abruptly. Honestly..i dont care for it. Its a bassline i have heard hundreds of times, some of them really standout (a couple of club tracks come to mind)...but this bassline is pretty generic. I could rant about this bassline all day..as i think it is one of the main sources of trouble here, but anyway...moving on, the next thing the song introduces is the synth. A bit loud...also something i am not really likeing about it. Nothing special here either...sounds like some techno from 1992. The synth does, i must admit..make the bassline sound better. The drums are cool..not much variation..but thats fine. Drums are probably the best part about this song.. Thiss is more techno than trance i would say.
new melody at 1:19...it is very loud at first...then noticably gets softer. I would try and smooth that out. The vocal sounds kinda cheap. Sounds ok in the song though. The bass line going out and coming back in so much it is very confusing. The bassline is changing pitch..but nothing else is and it sounds strange around 1:35. I am not sure what the song is doing from 1:40 to 2:05...i am totally lost here, all the bass cuts are uneeded. Once again the second melody comes in loud..then ntoicably gets softer. Cool melody here at 2:30...this one is nice. Sounds like techno (which is what this song sounded more and more like to me). The vocal in the background is a bit annoying. More random bass kills. The bass coming in at 3:12 is perfectly timed. However...a couple second later it mysteriously drops out again (at the sametime the kick starts..this sounds very strange to me)..then waits a couple seconds and comes in rather abruptly. THe end is abrupt...i dont know about the melody coming back it here...it gets loud and soft again. ok..thats it song over....is it suppose to be longer than 4:36?
So its pretty obvious..i didnt really like this song. But whatever...its only one person's opinion. But i will tell you that no one else is gonna think is is trance..cause it is not. trance is supposed to be hypnotic. trance blends its parts together smoothly to form a consistent picture with the whole. I would say you are pretty new to this genre..and i would say keep your head up and keep making tunes. try to make everything smooth...not so abrupt. fx are good at helping with this..and besides the fx at the beginning you had none. I am not gonna lie to you and say i liked this song when i did not, that is not my style...i dont know an easy fix to tell you. Wanna hear some top notch trance? listen to a band on this site called 'Synthex'. Ii wish you the best of luck in the future! |
